Kelly's experience in community affairs as well as being a business owner, give her the ability to support the needs of Maui nui and its residents!

Kelly King has dedicated many years of public service in the local community, County, and State organizations. Over the years, Kelly contributed to a multitude of non-profits, including the Hawaiian Islands Land Trust. She has served Hawaii as an active Leader or Board Member in the local organizations shown below.

In County Government, Kelly has provided bold, innovative, and visionary leadership in the Maui County Council that supported South Maui and all of Maui County.

Kelly has also put her business executive and management skills to work as a co-founder and partner in Pacific Bio Diesel, which employs more than 100 residents in Hawaii. Many know Pac Bio by their beautiful sunflower fields.

        instead of County Administrative Departments.

            • Introduced Resolution to join the national City and County goals supporting the Paris Climate Accord.

            • Introduced Resolution that mandated inclusion of Climate Change provisions to the Maui Countywide Plan.

        HTDC is a dynamic state agency responsible for diversifying

       Hawaii's economy by developing a flourishing technology industry

       that provides quality, high-paying jobs for Hawaii residents by

       providing capital, building infrastructure, and developing talent to

      foster innovation and diversify Hawaii's economy. HTDC is

  •   Maui Farmers Union

         Advocacy and Educational organization for diversified family farms that implement regenerative eco-logical techniques in growing and raising food for a vital, productive,  agricultural system. 

     

   

  • Hawaii Energy Policy Forum – University of Hawaii

 

The Hawaii Energy Policy Forum was established in 2002 as a collaborative energy planning and policy group. The organization consists of roughly 40 representatives from business, academia, government, and non-profit organizations. 

  •  Hawaii Renewable Energy Alliance (HREA)

        Advises State Legislative Affairs, Involvement in Public Utilities

  • Kihei Neighborhood Playgroup
    County program run by volunteers providing a venue for

        parents and their 1-5-year-olds to interact, provide guest

        speakers, acquire playground equipment.

 

  • Maui High School/Community-Based Management

        Our School Community Council (SCC), made up of principals,

        teachers, staff, and volunteer community members, helps to

        craft and approve these plans for the following school year.

 

  •  Girl Scouts Hawaii

         “Preeminent leadership development organization for girls. And with programs from coast to coast and across the globe,            Girl Scouts offers every girl a chance to practice a lifetime of leadership, adventure, and success. 

  •  Hui Malama Learning Center

          Since 1973, Maui Hui Mālama formed to help youth on Maui overcome personal challenges and barriers to educational success. The organization has supported more than 26,000 young people find purpose, complete educational milestones, gain employment, and find pathways to healthy, productive lives. Kelly helped to return the organization to financial health and oversaw the hiring of subsequent executive directors.
